      Pros

      Co-workers help each other, able to work flexible schedule if PRN staff. Training available online, and education department provided opportunities to stay up to date with certifications. Great preceptor program for ER staff at that time.

      Cons

      There were constant changes in management which creates the appearance that finance was more important than staff and patient care, which may be true when you work for profit.

      The staff are all very friendly and supportive.

      Cons

      It is a small hospital, with alot of responsibilities that fall back on the RN.

      Pros

      Key West has a diverse an amazing patient population. The long time staff (there are few left) are more like family than co-workers.

      Cons

      This is a challenging time for Healthcare in general. The challenges with retaining experienced staff is an issue (and a scary one) that I believe is not exclusive to Lower Keys. Key West additionally has a unique set of challenges related to the cost of living being so high.
