Pros

-Union guarantees raises -Great health benefits -Lots of initial training given (2-3 months) -Tenured coworkers willing to share knowledge if needed

Cons

-simply does not care about what is good for customers -sales practices could be described as "slimy", although this could be a reflection of the telecom industry as a whole -not an easy company to work with from the standpoint of a small business owner -employees are generally unprofessional in demeanor, abilities, and dress -IT is vastly outdated, still running MS-DOS with sporadic GUI programs, which are very slow -very little accountability -overall talent displayed in employees of all levels is lacking -management incompetence across the board -supervisors are generally clueless -middle management doesn't listen to suggestions of those below them -upper management alloof, doesn't ask for feedback or listen to management below them -management will turn a blind eye to slamming/cramming if perpetrator is hitting sales numbers, although this seemed to be changing the further the Qwest-Centurylink merger developed -management treats employees like children

Pros

Remote work, good health insurance

Cons

Lots of RIFs, poor technical leadership in the highest levels, lots of wasted money and resources on third party vendors and contractors to just abandon those projects or vendors in short order. Poorly thought out data management decisions. Company is trying their hardest to look like a modern tech company with modern values, but most of it is virtue signaling.
