Pros

Fantastic staff discount - 50% with lots of opportunity to try the products at home. Sometimes we receive a special staff box of new products. Supportive management with an open door policy and very understanding of mental health struggles. Working with amazing products that actually work. Being able to make a difference to peoples' days by recommending products that can change their confidence greatly. Whole team gets along and I have made a ton of friends through the company! I have met my friends for life through lush and the communication even out of work is great. Plenty of chance for overtime but no extra pay. Generally a very very fun job Great staff training and meetings Opportunity for additional roles within the workplace for example social media and parties. Everyone is paid equally Great experience for CV as companies know Lush staff are very confident with good sales skills.

Cons

Management sometimes tend to push you way too far even if you're uncomfortable. Some standard staff act like management and are way too bossy. Too much authority when they don't actually have any! Certain supervisors are not understanding and are disliked by the majority of sales assistants but management fail to do anything about it. Low pay for the job we do. It is way more intense than most sales assistant jobs and we have a lot more responsibility. The company can definitely afford to pay more to their staff! Founders have said that instead of high pay we get staff discount - most of us would much prefer more pay. Shifts are often too short and breaks are unpaid. Even if you're having a bad day, you're forced to push people into sales. This is not good on a bad mental health day.

Pros

Excellent inclusive company culture, employee discount, learning about natural ingredients for skincare, genuinely great and engaged team members, flexible work schedule for part time or casual positions.

Cons

High amount of work, unreasonable "evidence driven" feedback and coaching models, and unrealistic performance metrics for comically low pay, especially for floor coordinators. No additional pay given for specialty roles, which is many enhanced responsibilities over a specific area of the business, and little opportunity for career growth beyond the sales floor unless you are hired from an external management position. Floor Coordinator seems to be the highest rung most people can hit before being driven elsewhere.
