In my experience, there were not many opportunities to move up or become a full time employee. Uncertainty of grants to pay for salaries.

Politics now plays a heavy role in our college; it shows. Employees are leaving, retiring, or being laid off. There's an elephant in the room that isn't being discussed; everyone can feel it.
