Pros
A nice relaxed work environment with pretty up-to-date equipment and software. The majority of the staff and students are a pleasure to work with. Flexible work schedule. You get to take free classes from the college for personal or professional enrichment. Good work-life balance.
Cons
Just like in any bushel there are bad apples... I work as an adjunct and adjuncts are not taken too serious even though they are the backbone of the college, out numbering the full time faculty by about 2 to 1... And as found often within the job market within the local government (Luzerne county) there is a lot of nepotism and favoritism on campus. I have personally found that honesty, loyalty and hard work are not valued by some, but butt kissing is. Communication has a tendency to be a nonexistent art form between from the top down, departments and within departments. Don't get too comfortable and put all your eggs in this basket though... There is little to NO room for advancement.
