Pros

There are some nice, good people who work at Maersk. Flexible hours are provided, especially if you have to pick up children, go to a doctor's appointment, or attend school. You're allowed to work from home once a week. You can dress casually everyday. The office is located in a nice area where you get to enjoy nature and see deer, turtles, and all sorts of birds.

Cons

Unless you absolutely need a job or really want to work in the shipping industry, I would not recommend working at Maersk. This places sucks the life right out of you. From the very first day I started working at Maersk, all I heard were groans, sighs and cursing due to the frustration and anger from working there. The systems are extremely slow and the processes are so backwards that you can't efficiently do your work. Many times you have to do double work because you have to check the work of your overseas colleagues because they make mistakes left and right. You're drowning in emails and customer issues and the work keeps being piled on you. The pay is also extremely low.

Pros

I used to love working here. I love the people I work with. The level of clients we get to work with is great. National, International brands.

Cons

Frequent reorganizations, salaries are not even keeping up with inflation (which is not a "merit" increase, additional responsibilities for no additional compensation, frequent layoffs and offshoring. When layoffs occur, there are always several positions / responsibilities that are not backfilled and no longer owned by anyone. Changing work from home / hybrid / full time back in office policies continue to change. Employees no longer trust the leadership. There is no stability. There is no incentive to do great work. It has not been valued.
