Pros

-Very stable employment: some contractors have been around for 20+ years -Very good health insurance -Laid back office environment, people are generally pretty nice -No competition among coworkers because subject matter is generally assigned differently to each team member -Many opportunities to travel to locations across the country -Truly 40-hour work week: those complaining of working more for no pay are donating time to their own detriment -Generally flexible work schedule: I have never had a problem flexing my schedule for various appointments, and I do so pretty often -Gain great experience very fast, lots of OJT -Work is truly beneficial to the United States

Cons

-Low Salary, and getting raises is like squeezing blood from a turnip even with a great performance review. -No teleworking except for inclement weather -Lack of customer training: there have been times where I've been called out for things such as dress code, travel procedures, approvals for various things, etc and I've pushed back on the grounds that nobody tells these things to new hires. -Getting things done takes a long time -Office is freezing or sweltering, nothing in between

Pros

MBACSi is a government contracting company. They do a good job of walking the fine lines that are required of staff aug contracting. If you have been on a staff aug contract then you know what I'm saying.

Cons

Most employees work at a customer location so their "work experience" has a more to do with the customer than the company which can be hard for people not used to working for a contracting company.

Pros

Support US Postal Service modernization and technology improvement efforts Work on customer location and learn what client needs. Get education and training reimbursement to learn new technologies and get certifications. MBA CSi SVP and technical directors are available to help support promotions with client support. Cost of benefits have recently decreased. Raises are less than 3% but consistent each year. Promotions are possible with client support and can increase compensation by more than 10%. Spot award program gives gift cards. Hybrid telework schedule, 3 days from home, 2 days in client workspace is convenient. MBA CSi main office support (HR/Security/IT) is responsive and helpful.

Cons

Work can be stressful at times with last-minute changes due to budgets and new priorities. Some Postal managers are inexperienced at leadership and general management, but they mean well. As contractor, sometimes treated differently then Postal employee counterparts. Similar to other federal contractor roles.
