Pros

The benefits and comp packages are very competitive, and the communities as well as the Irvine office are aesthetically pleasing.

Cons

The lack of work life balance and the daily unethical behavior makes it unbearable to last long in this organization. Upper management is never at work, but they are constantly "working from home." Dealing with the parent company, MRE is always a nightmare, they don't understand the needs and regulations of healthcare making our jobs that much more difficult. The financial hardship that the company is currently experiencing has put a major burden on moral. Rather than punish everyone, management should take a look at their own expense reports.

Pros

Good management, support from your team and from higher ups in the company. Extremely rewarding job

Cons

Sometimes the companies expectations of care team members for a shift were ridiculously low for a healthcare environment and led to unsafe environments for residents

Pros

They seem nice and friendly and supportive the first month or two.

Cons

I worked for MBK Senior Living because they present themselves as a caring, mission-driven, human-centered organization. Unfortunately, that image does not match the reality. The focus is overwhelmingly on the bottom line rather than on residents, families, or employees. Operational problems are not addressed, yet sales teams are under constant pressure to move residents in as quickly as possible without those issues being resolved. This creates ongoing challenges and frustration for both staff and families. The company frequently hires individuals who are not properly qualified, leading to repeated complaints from families and inappropriate conflicts that directly impact resident care. Costs are continually increased with no meaningful improvements or additions to services. Employee feedback and ideas are not valued, and leadership does not take the time to understand the realities of day-to-day operations. As a result, burnout is common and employee turnover is high. If you value a supportive work environment, ethical operations, and reasonable compensation, I would not recommend working here. The stress level is high, and the pay does not reflect the demands of the role compared to other senior living communities in the same area.
