Pros

Great culture and people Flexible work life Sponsor driven work

Cons

Middle Management Favoritism (Department Managers, Directors) Stop the mass layoff madness. Stop sacrificing your troops. Make leaders responsible. Involve project leaders in the decision making process when doing RIFs. Department managers not doing this to protect their favorite employees. Labs Leadership doing this frequently. Audit them to protect the right people. Laying off people who are fully covered on direct sponsor work and keeping favorites who charged multiple hours of overhead / indirect. Laying off Engineers and keeping non engineering majors floating through this ... Not acceptable if your new vision aligns with making MITRE a SYSTEMS ENGINEERING COMPANY fornthe future. Please check LABS Leadership decisions. Incompetence at Director and multiple Department Level decision making.

Pros

I’ve had a very positive experience working at MITRE. The people here are incredibly intelligent, collaborative, and mission-focused. There is a strong culture of knowledge sharing, and I’ve enjoyed learning from so many talented coworkers across the organization. The Talent Acquisition leadership team has been outstanding. Alicia, Rachel, Manda, and Mindy have created a supportive and empowering environment, and they genuinely care about their teams and the candidate experience. Their leadership, accessibility, and willingness to invest in others make a real difference. MITRE offers meaningful work, a healthy work-life balance, and opportunities to continue growing professionally.

Cons

As with any large organization, processes can sometimes move slowly, and navigating a matrixed environment may take time. However, the collaborative culture and supportive leadership help make these challenges manageable.
