Pros

In general, work hard, be an adult, treat people right, and you'll find success. Not too different from any other place you'd prob go in that regard. Here are some specifics: Solid growth opportunity for those who put in honest effort, work hard, and act professionally. Strong office culture helps to offset work day stressors, and interoffice relationships are very strong. Success is publicly rewarded frequently, giving everyone the motivation to keep pushing. Overall the job is not difficult, and entry level work can be taught to nearly anyone. If you are willing to "Adult Well" then you can have a modicum of success here. If you want to go above and beyond and really buy into the sales systems, you don't need prior experience, just the willingness to listen, learn, and go outside your comfort zone. This job isn't for everyone. It will challenge you, but in a good way. I've seen people start on day 1 afraid of their own shadow and then break out and really grow into their own. It comes down to attitude. If you are willing to try, and put your best foot forward, the company will go all out to bring out the best in you.

Cons

Every Con is fairly typical of a small business trying to grow and expand. Here's what I've noticed from my low on the totem pole perspective: Only promotes and develops from within, which can stagnate growth and expansion in the long term. A more balanced approach to talent acquisition has routinely been demonstrated by top performing small businesses as they break into the larger markets. What this means is everyone starts as an entry level door knocker. It's nice to know the current head honcho did that, too. But in reality, I really care more that the CEO knows how to strategically maneuver the company so I continue to have opportunities with the company, NOT that he can go out and knock a door and close a sale. The "everyone did it" idea briefs well, but if door knocking is your only means for identifying talent, then you're eliminating a very large pool of extraordinarily gifted potential employees. Lack of long term systems infrastructure inherent in many small businesses means they are reinventing the wheel every few cycles. Business Logistics in the trenches or day to day grind will make or break any company. A small business looking to grow cannot expect to perform past average levels if it cannot master internal logistics issues. Transparency in recruiting has not been to the standard you would expect from a company of this size or reputation. Quite a few new hires enter not knowing what to expect on day 0 or day 1 of training. There is no onboarding process and more than one new hire didn't understand the role or position they accepted when they walked thru the doors on their first training day.

Pros

Management is really positive and is always trying to help you improve. If you’re good, this is the best job in the world. You get real money and management loves you

Cons

It’s hard work you’re walking all day getting rejected over and over again. You have high expectations for sales. The weather can be really bad and you still have to work. They also make work from 7-7 if it rains hard enough.
