Pros
There is a new management team in the past 18 months that is taking the organization from a “Cash Cow” to a “Star,” using the BCG matrix. The organization is in growth mode after several years of being depleted of its resources. Employees have the ability to flex their time to get projects done. A recent move to a new headquarters has added to the positive vibe and direction. It is a fun and energetic atmosphere with strong potential. The change in management has driven a much more collaborative environment which will help to drive the growth.
Cons
With the dramatic shift in focus, the company is adjusting to the change, which does add organizational stress. There is a fair amount of rebuilding work that needs to be accomplished, specifically in processes in most functions and the use of more modern digital tools. The fringe benefits are marginal, not horrible, but also not outstanding. The career growth path can be challenging within a smaller organization, but there are “sister companies” in the general area that can offer other growth potentials.
