Pros
There are no pros in hell.
Cons
Macy's Herald Square corporate was quite literally hell. I was a Digital Merchant EDP a couple years back and from day 1 I could tell the training was a joke. I didn't learn any new skills that would help transition me for the role you get once you're placed on a team. On top of being thrown into the fire with no support, I had to deal with a micromanager, egotistical type-A nightmare of a boss who did everything in their power to get me out the door for seemingly no reason. I remember once I walked in 10 min late due to a late train and got screamed at and reported to HR for this. This is the culture of Macy's. The leadership team was all buddy-buddy and gossipy; if one didn't like you, no one liked you. When I ended up resigning, my department was actually put under review due to a significant amount of resignations within the month. Shows a lot about them and how they treat their employees. I still have a few friends there who are still telling me about the unlawful terminations this company is doing. This place nearly tore me down after being treated so terribly as a fresh-out-of-college grad for no reason. I legit still have some PTSD two years later. I'm excelling in my career now with wonderful colleagues - just not at this hellhole. Thank you, NEXT.
