Pros
Great place to work if you are in a fixed position, specially with seasoned workers who know their product (The best people to shadow on the floor). Nice to work slow hours with little customer flow for several hours. If you are a cold hearted shark, or plain just do not invest emotionally in a job, this place is great for you.
Cons
Not the best place for someone who listens to their customers and respects their choices. Mean managers slither around pressuring for sales goals to make themselves look better for their managers. The pay is embarrassing for the level of knowledge and service you must give to others. You now no longer receive raises based on customer service, it is all on Sales per Hour, Items per Transaction, Sales goal (to get this you must do 110 at least of your goal), of course there is 3 accounts to every 40 hours if you are full time (full time actually often is 28 HOURS) You will only have a raise if you make decent scores in money related stats. You must chat up every customer...not for the joy of a hello but to gain knowledge on what to sell them (even if they do not want it) Expect to have to hear no on a card over three times, before it is okay to stop asking. Be aware that you will never have a 9-5 thing. Do not go to school, or have another job, they want you to work Macy's first and do everything else last. Others with better scores have better treatment. You will be harassed often by "the bosses boss" when they come in on busy days, to question and belittle if not frighten associates into scattering away from them.
