-you must use 7 days of your own PTO to start before short term disability kicks in
-short term disability is either 6 or 8 weeks depending on how you deliver at 50% of your pay (60% of your pay if you elect to contribute/pay into your short term disability when selecting benefits for the year)
-the remaining portion of your FMLA leave is NOT PAID. MLH says that it is paid parental bonding, but it is only paid if you have PTO to supplement.
