Pros

Absolutely loved the team I worked with!

Cons

There is minimal communication between leadership and those who are actually on the ground doing the work. Pay is minimal compared to the cost of living. I've had co-workers depart from their positions due to not being able to afford the cost of living with their current full time pay.

Pros

I have worked at MaineHealth for over 14 years and have had the opportunity to grow through five promotions. What started as a better job opportunity has become a career I am genuinely committed to. My experience has been positive overall, with strong mentors, good colleagues, and meaningful work that supports people who are helping others. I have generally felt trusted, challenged, and able to grow.

Cons

Healthcare is challenging, and rural healthcare brings real financial and operational pressure. MaineHealth is a large organization, so communication and decision-making can sometimes feel slow or uneven depending on the area. Not every decision will make sense to every employee in the moment, even when there are good reasons behind it. Like most corporate structures, I think communication is something that will always need work.
