Pros
A good company to join for interns and freshers, for exposure in a complex organisation and company politics, make friends. Not advisable to join for experienced professional.
Cons
Makino Asia is a sinking ship with no visionary captain. Staff respect his title, not leadership traits. Management communication not transparent, directions unclear, minimal communication, create mistrust. 50 years establishment in Singapore but culture still unstructured and unlike a MNC. Management promote high visibility staff by favourism. Appraisal system is flawed with quiet diligent workers and sub par workers rated the same. Every department has weak links, who do minimal and get by as managers don't have managerial skills, let it go and sweep under the carpet. End up the performing workers do more and carry the burden in the name of career development. Attrition cycle repeats with the good ones leave for better prospects.
