Pros

Compensation, regular promotions, may boost the "last salary" on career profile

Cons

Focus on hours rather than quality. Statement from department head during a department-wide call, "Why is the average (across the department) weekly time logged only 50 hours? Come to me if you don't have work." Process/quality improvement suggestions get no response from the leadership. QA rewarded by number of bugs logged, it doesn't matter if fixing those "bugs" actually breaks the system. Great employees don't last long in the company. Disclaimer: This review is based on experience in the transportation management side, more than 5 years ago.
