Pros

- Welcoming staff - Free food - Free leftovers - Students make going to work worth it

Cons

- Inconsistent with each employee (example: one coach gets a better schedule after they work for year, next employee in line doesn't get to change schedules) - Gives employees who have a higher education opportunity to move up in the company over the amount of time you've worked there - A lot of miscommunication / no communication - A lot of disorganized people and it shows in their work - Promotes supporting student's independence then treats them like babies - Tells employees they can ask for a raise after the first year, and then doesn't follow through - A lot of added responsibilities without a bump in pay - Upper management asks for feedback and then doesn't change anything - Company makes bad decisions about promoting the wrong people

Pros

-Heartfelt work culture based on care for one another and the wonderful students! -Transparent, encouraging, and approachable upper management. -Reasonable pay and perks for an entry level part-time position. -Holistic approach to student and staff development and wellbeing. -Potential to go on fun trips with the students such as hiking, ice cream, bike rides, and most other activities you can think of!

Cons

-It is easy to "pretend" to work on your laptop, and no one calls you out for it. Substitute Community Engagement Coaches don't have much required work, so you need to figure out how to keep busy. -There is less socioeconomic diversity than many other human service positions because Mansfield Hall is an expensive privately funded program.
