Pros

You get discounted rooms from any Marriott around the world. Its not a set price and its based on hotel popularity and rooms available. Marriott reserves the right to deny your reservation at any time. I stayed downtown chicago at a rate of 159.99 a night. without the discount it would have been 239.99 a night. because the property is managed by Concord Hospitalities you get a 6 free night stay a year with any of concord properties (you can only use 2 nights at one time)

Cons

the starting pay is 9.00hr for housekeeping. the work does not match the pay, its extremely hard on you back and knees. on any given day you could be expected to clean 21 rooms. 30 min. a room with the expectation the room should be perfect. The hotel never has the appropriate amount of linen. The housekeepers have to compete with each other for clean towels and bed sheets. Labor isn't distributed evenly among all the employees. some people will be assign to vacuum the halls every day (a much easier job) while others are assign to clean rooms every day( much harder on your body but receive the same pay). When promotion opportunity come up the management will give the job to people they have personal relationships with despite work performance. If you show up to work every day and do a good job management will hold you forever in that position.

Pros

Cafeteria offers good food for a low price. Marriott discounts at other hotels

Cons

The favoritism of employees is backed by corporate. If someone has been working here longer than you, they get to pick and choose what shifts they want. If there is an open shift they also first get to choose whether they want it or not. Lastly if there are cuts, they get to choose if they want to stay or leave before others. The favoritism doesnt stop there. The managers also make them do less sidework, and give them good sections where as new employees are the bottom of the barrel in all aspects. Honestly horrible experience. They dont care about your well being either. Im scheduled opening and closing shifts consecutively which means I get under 4 hours of sleep between shifts. Sleep deprivation is not a joke; do not recommend.
