Pros

Benefits somewhat good, but not better than other places..

Cons

Company has changed a lot in the last couple of years, focusing on cutting off management positions, and loading the remaining managers with more work, and no salary increase or title change. Marriott is a management company and it has been doing all sort of cuts in labor to save on cost, and to increase profit to keep their contracts with hotel owners. Marriott is loosing so many of its very talented managers because of this change of focus on the cost saving and ignoring their human capital. It is sad to say that looking at opportunities out there; there is a better life outside of Marriott. I know enjoy a better life, and working for a company that appreciate me and offers me incentives for my hard work.

Pros

Cafeteria offers good food for a low price. Marriott discounts at other hotels

The favoritism of employees is backed by corporate. If someone has been working here longer than you, they get to pick and choose what shifts they want. If there is an open shift they also first get to choose whether they want it or not. Lastly if there are cuts, they get to choose if they want to stay or leave before others. The favoritism doesnt stop there. The managers also make them do less sidework, and give them good sections where as new employees are the bottom of the barrel in all aspects. Honestly horrible experience. They dont care about your well being either. Im scheduled opening and closing shifts consecutively which means I get under 4 hours of sleep between shifts. Sleep deprivation is not a joke; do not recommend.
