Pros
- Personally, I have good managers - Good people overall. Friendly work environment. - The best benefits package I know of. A "real" pension plan (and well funded), good 410(K) matching, excellent health benefits, more vacation than most that they actually encourage you to take, etc. - Decent work-life balance, at least for Support Staff. Another story for many consultants...
Cons
- Some of my peers have terrible managers that everyone knows are bad, but hothing gets done to fix it. - IT management is more concerned with cost containment,"process" and generating reports. Rarely actually refer or seem to care about actual customer service or satisfaction. - Very slow and ponderous to get things done. Overly bureaurcratic. - No room to move up. Managers seem to stay here forever!
