Pros
It's not boring...no day is the same. You will learn a lot. You get to developed great relationships with your employees...they often become family. Great open door policy as well. The best company to get cross-trained in all aspects of retail (current structure at least). Great benefits! I say be a sponge and absorb! Time passes quickly because it's always something to do (but as management we are encouraged not to task but manage. This is hard when we see things that need to done and ...(I'll just put that in the cons)
Cons
You work 50 hours per week or more. (You are scheduled 50 hours per management contract) Regional staff has no concern abt your personal time. They will pop up and expect you to stay while they are there...even if your already at your 10th hour. Payroll is a challange compared to what they expect to be accomplished in a store. This is connected to the above mention pertaining managers not talking. We feel compelled to task sometimes....specially those whi have been in the company for a while, like me. We Often feel trapped once you get in upper management, specially if you lack a degree. You make a good amount of money, but unless you want to remain in retail, it's hard to walk into another company making the same salary. There is always a push to become a store manager, but if that's not your goal, it can be an issue. (Petty addition...we need a better discount! )
