Pros
The employee discount is handy, although it's usually only 10%, except for certain weekends when employees get 20%. If you work on the floor, you eventually learn what products they have & about different designers. They do actually have a ton of nice products, but you can't afford most of them with your tiny paycheck.
Cons
The pay is minimum wage, but come time for employee reviews, managers never give good enough reviews for a full raise, even if you're the only employee doing work. The customers have no respect for the employees. Coworkers are high school slackers & people who have been there for decades & think their seniority means they don't have to work anymore. There are never enough people scheduled to run the whole store, either, because the managers want their specific store to make more money than the others in the company around them, so they just save money by not properly paying employees (by not giving good enough raises & not scheduling enough people). If you work the registers, everyone gets on your case about everything & managers only care about how many credit cards you open each day - most people in an area either already have credit cards or absolutely don't want one, so there's no way to really win that battle. Every once in a while, the big guys in suits will come in, tell the managers that their store is all wrong, and rearrange the entire thing (which the managers love doing while you're working & get mad at you over organization even though you didn't place an entire section of items in the wrong place) & make sure to come up with the most counterproductive way for you to do your job because obviously the suits, who have probably never done your job, think they know best.
