I would give this company negative scores if I could and would suggest anyone considering working for them to MOVE ON unless you have no choice. QUALITY OF LIFE and SCHEDULE IS HORRIBLE - very little to no personal time and absolutely no ability to plan things or have any kind of personal life/schedule. Your life will revolve around this job. If you are lucky enough to get 2 days off they will NOT be back to back and most likely be immediately after the two busiest days. This company does NOT take care of their employees and will use and abuse them as hard as much as they can. Expect to work 12-14 hour Saturdays every week Expect to work almost every holiday unless it happens to fall on your day off Expect to work in ANY weather/temperature/condition Training is 6 days per week, no matter what, even during holidays. If you're lucky enough to be in an area that is on a 5 day work week schedule, it can be changed via management at any time with little to no notice. Your days will start between 6-7am and very rarely end until 6-7pm. (12+ hour work days are common) One day per week you must be at the warehouse/office at 6am for a team meeting where they will nitpick and micromanage every aspect of your jobs. MICROMANAGEMENT - the cons for this company start from management and trickle down to everyone. Salaried management employees are under-payed and overworked leading to a very stressful work environment for everyone. Often times the warehouse does NOT have the equipment you need to do jobs so you are forced to trade with other technicians or improvise and risk getting a bad score and also causing your jobs to take longer than normal which spirals because you are not payed by the hour. Its a very bad situation for everyone including employees, customers, management, etc. but the technicians end up suffering worse than anyone because the customers will ultimately get what they want. VERY LITTLE TO NO ADVANCEMENT POTENTIAL - basically if you slave and have no personal life for 4-5 years you can become a supervisor which then gets you less pay (salary), more hours, A LOT more stress, and even less quality of life. Put in approx 5 more years and you MIGHT be able to get a Trainer/Site Manager job if one is available for about the same pay that some technicians make. More than likely you will have to move to take that position as well. That's pathetic. I blame a poor business model and lack of good leadership from top to bottom at MasTec. This is not a good company to work for.
