The 1st two weeks of training are on point, (I was a tech for years before being hired here) you are taught how to do the job correctly. However, when you are in the field training the tech may try to cut corners. You pull the work for 3 days a week and on job trainer is paid hourly. So far in my experience the OJT doesn't care if you want to do more work, Tries to get you to cut corners instead of you doing it the way you are taught in training and when you say something you're told it's fine. But these jobs are under your name so the OJT seems to not really care if it's done correctly. Tech doesn't want to help you do your jobs which is understandable, BUT, The other 2 days the OJT pulls the work and you're paid hourly and he wants to do all the jobs he can possibly do with you helping, being a goffer, and doing the dirty work. An instance I had was finished 2nd job OJT wanted to call it a day and seemed upset cause I wanted to do another job, got to 3rd job and wouldn't let me ground correctly said it would be fine(could cause to loose job) and was rushing to finish. I'm pretty fast in my opinion anyway and love the job but I also do everything I can to do jobs correct and make the customer happy. Not saying all OJT are doing this could just be the one I have.
