Fine, but not great. - Communications Specialist Mass General Brigham Employee Review

Pros

The best thing about working for MGB is getting to feel like you're making a difference because even if you aren't practicing medicine or conducting research, you support those who do.

Cons

Salary is medium-low, and their policy of a maximum 2% merit increase does not match with inflation rates. I'm making less now than I did when I started, despite having a higher salary, because cost of living in Boston is so high. Also, we no longer get the day after Thanksgiving off as a holiday, and Mass Eye and Ear (an MGB affiliate) doesn't accept the provided vision insurance. Make that make sense.

Pros

The staff was incredibly supportive, and you can tell that they really care about their work. The workplace environment is very collaborative.

Cons

The job can be very sedentary, but there are also days where you also need to travel to multiple locations.
