Cons

I had high hopes when I joined Mastech Digital as a developer, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. I encountered numerous issues that significantly impacted my time with the company: 1. Contractor Pay Issues: Initially, I was asked to start as a contractor while completing my notice period with my previous employer. However, I was paid less than expected, and the reasons given were inconsistent with what was communicated at the time of hiring. The company never clarified the contractor terms, which led to confusion and dissatisfaction. 2. Salary Deductions: During my time as a full-time employee, I experienced frequent and unexplained salary deductions. These included excessive tax withholdings and adjustments related to my initial contractor pay, which were not clearly communicated or justified. 3. Shift Assignments and Misleading Information: I was assigned to a UK shift under the assumption that a change was possible if it did not suit me. Later, I learned that the company’s major client only operated in UK shifts, leaving me with no real choice. Furthermore, there was misleading information regarding my Last Working Day (LWD). HR initially requested an extension of my LWD due to client needs, but the client was unaware of any issues and did not require an extension. This situation was poorly handled and added unnecessary stress. 4. General Dissatisfaction and Dishonesty: Throughout my tenure, I experienced inconsistency and dishonesty from various departments, including HR, recruiters, and management. Different teams provided contradictory information, and overall communication was lacking.

Pros

Salary on time, Medical benefits premium reduction after 1 year of service

Cons

They operate more like a contract-based staffing model despite calling it full‑time employment. There is very limited support in finding new projects, and individual job security doesn’t seem to be a priority. Apart from the initial onboarding, there was no meaningful help when transitioning to new assignments, and there is very little visibility into the contracts.
