Pros

I started working at MathWorks not long before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and most of my onboarding took place remotely. Even so, the training and onboarding experience was excellent. Very friendly collaborative environment. Management seems to actually want improvement advice from employees. Excellent facilities in a great location near the Boston area. The benefits and perks are also very nice. Definitely feels like an environment where the CEO and company in general cares about their employees. Prior to the COVID pandemic some reviews have said that MathWorks WFH options were on the weaker side, but the WFH requirement has forced improvement.

Cons

Would have liked to work in the office and have access to the gym, but that is out of their control due to the pandemic. Other than that, none that I can think of.

Pros

Nice small team, personal office, breakfast and lunch. Some excellent engineers are really helpful and love to share and teach. Best work-life balance for most teams.

Cons

Office politics since the reorganization, that is really not good for working. Even though there are still some excellent senior and principal engineers who are really helpful, something that happened is distract the work and betrayed their values.
