Pros
Relatively flexible schedule and good for a college student looking for a part-time job.
Cons
Their ten-week "training" consisted of spending hours and hours reading through a binder primarily full of sample problems and curriculum. During the periodic employee checkins and evaluation, I would tell the management that in order to be a good instructor, I needed more concrete training like was stated in the training handbook/binder. They told me they would make an effort to, but they never did, yet continued to insult me on my shortcomings as an instructor. Consequently, I never felt like I learned how to teach a concept in any meaningful manner or how to properly deal with children with severe behavioral issues. Most of the time was spent juggling 3-5 children at a time and grading their work. Given the fact that we could not take breaks during our five hour shifts and the frequency of behavioral problems, I felt that I should have been paid much more than I had been. When I ran into issues with attendance due to severe personal problems, the management was inflexible, told me that "we all have problems too", and put me on a disciplinary warning. The management always felt insincere and passive aggressive. Overall, the job is all good on paper and in theory, but my experience at the center was very poor.
