Good Colleagues. Fun Employee Events.

Inept Leadership. Transparency isn’t a company strong suit. Lots of employee turnover.

Thank you for your review, we appreciate the feedback, and are glad you enjoyed the teammates you worked with. We have an excellent team - some of the best people in this industry and our focus is to make their experience with Matrix a good one overall. Our turnover is lower than our peers in this industry. Our projects can be difficult and challenging and require some time away from family. However, we get to work with some of the most exciting companies and products in the world. This is not for everyone, but we are constantly working on ways to improve that experience for the team. In terms of the ownership lining their pockets, it is the exact opposite for Matrix. Our employees do make the difference and are treated as such. Employee-Owners receive the same quarterly % bonused based on corporate performance that all employees receive (at most). In many cases in the past several years during Covid and even after, owners have received a smaller bonus % than our employees have because the corporate performance was not there. We do recognize that our overall performance is the responsibility of the leadership and handle it as such. From a transparency standpoint, we hold quarterly town halls with the entire company to review our 10 year, 3 year, and 1 year goals, along with quarterly goals as well. We hold regional town hall events, and small employee focus groups, all of which are completely open discussions around our company, our team, their work environment and our business processes. Regular employee feedback surveys drive continuous improvement activities in our workplaces and benefits.

Pros

The managers in the IS department at the Denver office are the best I've ever had the pleasure of working with. They come to work everyday with a positive attitude and support their employees the best they can in furthering education, troubleshooting issues at client sites, and work- life balance. They are extremely involved with their employees. The company offers great benefits

Cons

I have no issues with the company

Pros

The company offers some strong employee-focused benefits, including an ESOP plan and 401(k) matching. The employee ownership structure is a meaningful benefit and can create a sense of shared investment in the company’s success. The 401(k) match is also a solid advantage and shows that the company does provide tangible long-term financial benefits for employees.

Cons

Companies can talk a lot about culture, values, and fundamentals. But the real test is whether those standards are applied consistently. When accountability depends on who you are, who you know, or how inconvenient the issue is, the culture starts to ring hollow. That matters even more when growth is stagnant or retracting. At some point, a company has to be honest about whether its strategy is designed to create real growth or simply preserve the current operating model. There is often a divide between growth strategies. One path challenges assumptions, sharpens focus, and forces uncomfortable change. The other gets branded as growth but mostly maintains the status quo. Values are not proven by how often they are repeated. They are proven by what leadership is willing to confront.
