Pros
The work is easy enough, you get decent health, dental, and a partially matched 401k
Cons
I was involved in the NTB buyout and I never thought I would miss NTB so much. Mavis bought out our store and promised us the world but never delivered on any of that. They brought in Andrew from some store in New Jersey to train us how to do things the Mavis way, and apparently the Mavis way is to lie and cheat and sell customers everything they don't need. They base their sales quotas on selling a certain number of each specific service, so if you haven't met your quota on something like power steering flushes, they will just push it on every customer who walks in the door regardless of whether or not they need one. They promised us we would be making at least as much money as we did with NTB, we don't. They systematically weeded out all the higher ups that they acquired in the buyout and brought in their own people who are dishonest crooks. They installed cameras and microphones in the shop so they can watch and listen to everything we do and they're constantly calling to yell at us over the simplest things, I got written up for putting the wheels on a car "in the wrong order". They have completely eliminated any chance to advance and further my career here, they eliminated all of the training programs and classes that we could attend in order to learn more in the field, they will not help you get your ASE certifications like other shops will, they told me flat out that my ASE certifications don't mean squat to them. When we were NTB I was promoted 3 times and had 4 raises, since Mavis bought us I've seen nothing. Save yourself the trouble and apply anywhere else.
