Pros

Working with the individuals is very rewarding. Knowing that everyday you make a difference in someone's life. My immediate co-workers are hard working people, doing their best everyday. We have insurance, but it has very high deductibles.

Cons

The upper management thinks that one "employee appreciation" party is going to take the place of not having a raise in several years.Many excuses from upper management about why raises have not been given. Veiled threats used to force staff to work overtime or to get you to think like upper management wants you too. Leaving is very hard due to the terrible economy and upper management uses this to their advantage.

May Institute has been a great place to grow and enhance my career. I started in an entry-level position over a decade ago and have been promoted along the way to a direct-level position. They have fostered my educational and professional growth with highly-qualified supervisors and meaningful collaboration. They value employees well-being and satisfaction.

The work can be challenging, but the people are amazing!

opportunity to work with amazing clients who will brighten your day if you have a passion and understanding for this field and compassion for this population

- Poor upper management - Lack of consistency across departments - Standards and operations vary depending on the person and are not consistent across all employees - Failure to take action against allegations of abuse - Lack of oversight - Abundance of unqualified staff being hired - Disregard for staff well-being and burn out risks
