Pros
Excellent on the ground workforce that succeeds despite the wrangling and good ol' boys club of senior management.
Cons
The most disconnected management staff ever, it is high school all over again, cliques with middle management and sr. management always looking up at the next rung rather than what happens at the lower level. Never have I seen such a chasm between the reality of the individual contributor and that of the folks in the corner offices. Strategies never work to completion, just when things start to click there is a lay off/outsourcing intended to save money but by and large ends up costing the company money. One interesting tidbit for a health care company - if you're a new employee you don't get health benefits for 2 months. I never have had that occur in my life.
