Pros

- Leading Medical Care in the Field - 24/7 ER and ICU - Constantly Improving Patient Care and Self Double/Triple-Checking - Good Health Benefits for Staff, including Prorated PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, Guaranteed Life Insurance, etc. - High Standards in Every Respect when it comes to Patient Care - Excellent Learning Environment - Merit-based hiring that promotes diversity and competent staff

Cons

Susceptible to the same Corporate drawbacks as any other Corporation I.e.: - Cutting hours and laying people off to make quotas - Hardline policies that do not account for nuance and can discompassionate or even straight up inhuman at times. - Competent, hard workers may feel persecuted or be put on the chopping block, due to policy or "financial constraints". - Losing staff and electing not to fill vacant positions to appease the budget/revenue, thus putting more stress on the remaining staff - Interested in Self-Preservation and the Bottom Line (revenue) over Floor Workers It is also very hard to maintain a work/life balance, especially with changing schedules/staff and being on-call. We are also no longer allowed to pursue school at work - even if the work is directly-related or part of the program that Medvet is partnered with.

Pros

The staff at the Commerce MedVet have been very supportive and helpful with teaching me the skills I was previously lacking. I got my first feline jugular blood draw and I was also given great tips about IV catheter placement.

Cons

I have no cons, the staff are very welcoming and if you want to learn they want to teach.
