Pros
Flexible working hours, decent work life balance except near release deadlines, team is easy to get along with. Good health benefits + fitness reimbursement + access to finding doc, lawyer, accountant etc.
Cons
but meetings lack team engagement without much interaction from team members and I came from a different role where everyone was engaged and friendly and was hoping for that but adopted the silent non-engagement culture of my team. The engineering manager and product owner tried to make calls more engaging but for whatever reason individual members would just not talk or share. One or two of them would if you talked to them individually but don't expect too much camaraderie depending on what team you're on. I accidentally joined a different team's meeting once and it was a lot of arguing and aggressive finger pointing. No explanation of overall team changes and expectations. Manager meetings are not regular and confusing because you hear one thing and then get told another thing. There's very little consistency and you have to figure out mostly on your own how to be successful. Was laid off during PTO after being assured by various managers that the company wants current employees to excel and improve. So I'm not sure what happened and the miscommunication between different tiers is very unprofessional and confusing.
