Pros

If you are looking for a career in High-Tech sales memoryBlue is the absolute best place you can start. Most employees (myself included) come in with little to no experience in sales or the high tech world. Most sales development rep’s (SDR’s) go from having no skills or experience to being highly desirable candidates. They only ask that you work hard and show a desire to learn and improve. In addition to offering a place for people to learn sales skills and grow, mB is a young and fun work environment filled with networking opportunities. Not only did I have a great time going to company events, and create lasting friendships, I have already used my mB network to generate sales opportunities at my new employer. memoryBlue is place where everyone is rooting for your success and anyone is willing to help you improve your skills or give you advice. Many reviews on this site make the point that some clients are harder than others which is true. Some clients are easier than others but if you show that you are working hard and going above and beyond in order to succeed you will be supported by the mB team. They understand this is the case and even if you don’t love your client you still leave with incredibly valuable experience. The experience and opportunity afforded to you has a memoryBlue employee vastly outweighs this minor downside. If you are interested in starting a career in high tech sales mB is the place to be without question. Even the negative reviews on this site recognize that it helped them get a great next job. If you are worried that it might be hard, it most likely will be. Working in sales is not easy and if you’re interested in sales because you want an easy job you should reconsider. With that said, I love working in tech sales and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I have memoryBlue to thank for that. As with any position in sales, you will have good days and bad days, you will have good weeks and bad weeks. You’ll agree with some choices made by management and disagree with others. When I speak to other mB alumni we all agree that given the opportunity to go back in time, we would all choose to work for mB again. If you are thinking about making this jump I highly recommend you go for it.

Cons

As I stated earlier, it is true that some clients are easier than others. It is also that case that some people have one full time client and others have two part time clients. It is easier to have one full time client. memoryBlue could probably do a better job of setting quota’s accordingly.

Pros

- Good Sales Training - Good Company Culture, Everyone wants to learn and help - Good Managers will be able to provide great coaching to help further grow your skills

Cons

- Your success is highly dependent on what client they give you. If they give you a hard client, do not expect to see those bonuses come in frequently. - Managers are also another luck of the draw. Started off with a great manager, who'd always be willing to help and coach. But then transitioned to another manager who was about my age, not very competent at coaching or advice since he had only been on an easy client for 6 months before being promoted, and would micromanage the team very hard. If you get a bad manager + a hard client, you will not have a good time at memoryBlue since they are already expecting you to work hard. - Pay and the bonuses are very low. Whether or not you'll see a raise is dependent on what client you get whether since it's based on hitting quota an X amount of times.
