      opportunity to promote and make decent pay

      Cons

      very bad work-life balance for managers (50-60 hours not uncommon; I've worked 70-80 hours/wk a few times); GMs use profanity and vulgar language regularly and in management meetings; GMs are disrespectful, unprofessional, and downright mean/nasty. The GM enjoys making employees feel inferior. My training was all on me, no help from senior managers. Expectations are high, but rewards are low.

      A few of the people are nice to work with.

      Cons

      A store manager who talks down to employees like they're children (and apparently gets promoted for it). A store manager who acts like employees are idiots for calling him to ask questions. Raises are pathetic. Understaffed because the store manager won't allow enough labor hours to do the job, particularly on Sundays when there's a lot of freight.
