Pros

IPS incentive for working over 1000 hours An extra $2.50 on weekends and some holidays Opportunities to advance Flexible skedules for students Gifts on holidays and birthdays Christmas bonus in the form of a gift cards

Cons

The company does not give stores enough payroll to run a big enough staff. This often leads to overworked employees and unhappy guests. There were many times where team members could work long shifts without the chance to take a break. Making guests happy can be very difficult when policies change often, especially at the service desk. Many guest feel Menards is not dependable due to constant changes. The equipment is old and never works. Menards will fix something 1000 times before they buy a new one. We have maintenance people at my store every day. Management is often uptight due to having the general office scrutinize everything they do. Theft is very high and I constantly fear for my job. If I happen to miss a shoplifter or a team member posing as a shoplifter to test us then I get punished even though I have saved thousands in merchandise from leaving the store. I was once yelled at by my store manager for not tackling a thief while I was pregnant even though I saved the product. My store was the most underpaid store in the region even though we are one of the busiest in the company Management changes constantly and some people should really not be managers. I have not been able to advance in my career here because I am married to another employee

Cons

scheduling/hours (clopens and schedule all over the place) who your store manager is determines your whole experience have to pay for work clothes the amount of time it takes to walk to break room or out to your car is part of your break constantly monitored by cameras store managers will push off issues on to you or will refuse to help extreme lack of training, you are thrown in the deep end horrible benefits (insurance, 401k match nonexistent)
