Pros

As a PRN EMS employee most months there are plenty of open shifts to work.

Cons

Poor equipment, poor truck conditions and old, poor management. When something breaks it likely will stay broken for a long time. I’ve heard management say we just need meat in the seat. EMS is a revolving door. The good medics don’t stay. Little support from management. A lot of long transfers. I could go on...

Great Care Management leaders and team members. Benefits are solid and start immediately. Mercy as a whole values employees more than other health systems.

Cons

Perpetually short staffed and work over scheduled hours.
