Pros

Flexible schedules. There were always opportunities to pick up extra shifts.

Cons

Working as a patient care technician was mentally, physically, and emotionally draining. The nurses were not helpful and actually quite lazy. Management showed no appreciation for employees. The pay is HORRIBLE for the amount of work you are doing. I chose this position for experience in the nursing field while in school and after a few months of working at Mercy i chose to pursue another career path. The last straw was working this job while pregnant and there was no type of help from management or staff to accommodate patients where i could not. Management made my pregnancy feel like an inconvenience. Insurance premiums are also unreasonable.
