Pros

Busy work environment, good intro to the medical field, gained compassion for the ill. Made some good friend from many different departments. People are relatively friendly.

Cons

Not enough pay for the work completed. Patient overload (14+ patients each) where you’re solely responsible for all baths, bathroom breaks, linen changes, and incontinent patients. Some nurses are very unhelpful. After almost 2 years, I have only had one raise. Made $11.24 by the time I left. One of the lowest paying hospitals in the region. Slow accrual of PTO (4 hours every biweekly paycheck). I made more money working in retail.

Pros

Flexible hours and the work is straightforward and easy. It's an honorable job where you are helping people. Decent place to work part time if you are in school or close to retirement. Air conditioned and clean.

Cons

Pay is mediocre and a lot of the staff there can be very rude and unprofessional. Not all of them but a lot of them. Coworkers in department will actively avoid work creating an uneven workload between employees. No yearly raises or room for growth. It's just a job.
