Pros

Snoopy; i.e. brand recognition. Have a lot of institutional clients that can produce some leads for you - if you qualify for it. Metlife reimburses you industry designations you achieve.

Cons

Contrary to what they say you are a captive agent: You want medical insurance, you must sell almost exclusively Metlife products. You want to qualify for sales conferences you must sell almost exclusively Metlife products. You want to be part of their better lead-generation programs you must sell almost exclusively Metlife products. Also, Metlife have people specifically hired to read all Financial Service Reps e-mails.
