Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you value the teamwork among nurses and techs, and we also hear your concerns regarding staffing and safety in the Psych unit. These issues are important, and we are actively reviewing staffing models and safety protocols to better support our teams. Our goal is to ensure staff feel safe and equipped to provide the best care possible, and your input helps guide where improvements are needed. We truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will continue working toward stronger support for both staff and patients.

Pros

Coming from a smaller size hospital but big company like Methodist and known high paying hospital in DFW, I needed more shifts. Since MDMC is bigger than my other PRN, I have higher chance of getting shifts because there are more monitoring stations, more staff taking PTOs, higher chance of staff calling out sick and therefore opening the shift, etc.

Cons

More workload and higher census! Almost 50 patients on heart monitor per station.

We're glad to hear that the flexibility and availability of shifts have been a benefit for you. As one of the region's largest health systems, Methodist offers opportunities that can help PRN team members find the schedule that works best for them. We also recognize that higher patient volumes and workload expectations can come with working in a busy, high-acuity environment. Supporting our team members remains a priority, and we continually evaluate our compensation programs and workplace resources to remain competitive and help our employees succeed. Thank you for the important role you play in caring for our patients and for being a valued member of the Methodist family.
