Pros
-Good benefits (health insurance, dental, vision, OPERS, vacation, sick leave, tuition waiver) for staff. -Depending on department, flexible hours are available -Alot of good, down to Earth people from middle management down to the front line staff. -Hard-working, dedicated, veteran people in specific departments (HDRBS, PFD) that are willing to show new staff how to do the job the right way.
Cons
-Upper-level/senior management for major departments (HDRBS, PFD) don't communicate well and don't know what the average employee does on a daily basis. -Lack of leadership from senior management -Labor shortages are becoming the norm (doing more with less) -Lack of quality training programs means loss of new hires within a year (no retention of quality hires) -Staff don't feel appreciated from senior management (no acknowledgement of good work) -Senior management only comes around when there is a problem. -Fair compensation but could be better when compared to other colleges/universities
