Pros
-good place to work if you are artistic or crafty -good for young people who live at home and don't have too many bills to pay -you can take the cake decorating class class for free -discount isn't too bad
Cons
- the point system where you if you accumulate 6 points, you are fired. It doesn't matter if you have a serious condition, a doctor's note or anything. You will be fired. I don't think that it is wrong to have a point system but the structure of this one is way too harsh. Six months from the point that you accumulate is when it gets erased, not in 6 months whatever points you have will be erased. One can have a really bad month and be fired just like that. The job is very stressful in that sense. -the uniforms are terrible. They have framers who deal with oil pastel drawings and such, wearing white shirts and sales associates who are on the floor fixing things and unloading trucks wearing khaki pants. It makes no sense. The uniforms in general take away from the fact that this is not a Target or a Starbucks, it is an Arts and Crafts store where we encourage creativity, not bland black and khaki uniforms that get damaged easily with opened paint containers and cake supplies that associates have to pay for out of pocket. -there is little or no training for new associates
