Pros
Once you have time under your belt with the company, and are not a seasonal employee, it is hard to be fired or laid off. They won't lay off any employees, but they will fire if you acquire enough infraction points.
Cons
It doesn't matter how hard you work at the store; you may never receive recognition after years of working there. You receive a standard raise each year, and the only way to receive a "good" raise of 10-15 cents is to get a good review. However, management never gives good reviews because it is written by the store manager who is not on the floor observing all of the employees. You will be stuck in your position, most likely Sales Associate, but will be forced to run register, stock, and work many, many different jobs without the appropriate pay or title. Hours bounce around so much you can never predict your work week, and some days you may close only to have an opening shift the following morning. It is very high pressure work environment with no benefits, recognition, or promotion what-so-ever.
