Pros
- absolutely love the staff (except for one woman and a manager who likes to tell lies) -was given the birthday coordinator job after 4 months of working, which was cool -good first job, for a while
Cons
My biggest complaint is hours. It is so frustrating when I go to check my schedule and I see that I have another week with only 4-5 hours. It makes me feel underappreciated as an employee who's worked there for 8 months to see that employees who were hired last month get 4x as many hours as me. During inventory a few weeks ago, I got at least 15-25 hours per week, but now that they don't need me for inventory, I get a 4.5 hour shift on a saturday every week. If you work at Michaels, get ready to have as few hours as possible. Oh and say goodbye to planning on having days off because you don't get hours, more than once I've made plans thinking I won't be scheduled on those days and had to cancel because I had to go in for a 4 hour shift. Also, the infraction point system is the most ridiculous system ever. 6 points and you're fired, and you get an entire point if you call out sick or for any reason at all. You can have a note from the doctor and you'd still get the point. The code for the point is SICK-PTUNPAID. It's crazy.
