Please note, this is based off of my experience at Micro Focus in 2014 & 2015 The best part of working at Micro Focus was the people! Everyone was genuinely kind and tried to band together. From a leadership perspective, some managers ruled with an iron fist within the sales organization. Your mental health and happiness truly depended on your manager or department. HR there was extremely unprofessional and partied immensely. Several coworkers had relationships with each other. At the end of the day, the reason I left Micro Focus was because of how evil the core of the company felt. The C suite executives are solely focused on making shareholders happy and will do anything it takes to increase the value of the company (obviously). Don’t be fooled by the news of new acquisitions for Micro Focus.... these are simply to bolster the company’s finances or image of success. Micro Focus from a technology standpoint has no innovation. The majority of their large enterprise deals derived from compliance deals for COBOL. This is an extremely outdated system. The sales teams a few years ago, were largely ineffective. A lot of people skated by... while leadership focused on more acquisitions. There was little room for true progression. I realized I could provide more value and meaningful work elsewhere.
