Pros
Nice work colleagues, good training at the beginning to get you on your feet, free hot and cold drinks and regular staff outings to get to know your colleagues. The work itself was reasonably straightforward and varied enough to keep it interesting. Slightly better pay than similar roles in the city.
Cons
A lot of employees had been there for a long, long time so you knew right away there was no chance at career progression because these people would be there long after you're gone. There's a negative atmosphere hanging over the place, with acquisitions, mergers, layoffs, everyone unsure of job security and future. The tech people seemed burned out and overworked and their negative morale rubs off on you. You could see people smiling but you knew there was something darker behind it, hard to put a finger on exactly. Sales people think they're God's gift and above the tech people.
