Pros

I can't say enough positive things about Micro1 as an employer. They actually care how we feel, make sure we have full explanations and detailed expectations for each project, while getting reviewed we often get positive feedback along with corrective advice. The pay is great and the bosses are helpful and friendly. They also check in and follow up in a timely manner.

Cons

The only con is that it is gig work and they cannot guarantee constant work. But I'm still kept pretty busy, there are simply days when we have no tasks to do.

Pros

The company has a supportive culture and even offers free trining/educational classes if you want to take them. Theyhave an engaged, supportive Slack channel as well as Reddit. The moderators are different than any I've seen, they look into things for the community and are always helpful

Cons

Their AI interviewer is pretty tough. You have to do your homework at a grad schoold level to be prepared! On the other hand, it makes you quicker, and teaches you how to interview: 1) Know your domain, 2) Be brief, and 3) Have concrete examples of your work.

Pros

The people are what set Micro1 apart. My managers (in my current role Ray and Amanda) are genuinely kind, responsive, and supportive, incomparable to any other annotation platform I’ve contracted with, and I’ve worked with several major ones over my career. Questions get answered quickly, feedback is constructive and actually helps you improve, and you never feel like you’re just a number in a queue. The work itself is engaging and intellectually challenging, and quality is clearly valued over volume. It’s the kind of company culture I’ve always hoped to find. The pay is worth every ounce of the work we do and hours are completely reasonable. You are paid on time for the work you provide never having to question that like other platforms I have work on.

Cons

As with most AI training work, roles are contract-based and project-dependent, so there’s no guarantee of long-term stability. I’d love to see more pathways to permanent roles for consistent, high-performing contractors. I can only hope to land another project here.
